1. Our Commitment

DeteQt Pty Ltd ("the Company," "we," "us," or "our") (Level 5, 11 York Street, Sydney NSW 2000, Australia) handles personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles ("APPs") under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and applicable state privacy legislation. The Company designs, manufactures, and deploys AI-enhanced diamond-chip quantum magnetic sensors for use in mining exploration and medical imaging research. Our website at deteqttech.com serves professional evaluation partners, research institutions, and others interested in our sensing technology. Contact: [email protected].

2. Personal Information We Collect

We collect personal information that is reasonably necessary for the purposes set out in Section 3. The categories depend on how you interact with us:

  • Evaluation enquiries: When mining survey teams, imaging research groups, or other professionals submit a request for an evaluation kit or pilot program via our contact form, we collect name, organisation, country, email address, phone number (if provided), and a description of the measurement challenge you want to address.
  • Correspondence: Email exchanges with our engineering team at [email protected], including technical discussions, pilot program coordination, and support queries.
  • Pilot and evaluation partner data: If your organisation participates in a field trial or evaluation program, we may collect technical contact details, field-site logistics information, and feedback on sensor performance. We do not collect personal health or genetic data as part of our product operations. Any bio-magnetic signal data captured during medical imaging research evaluations belongs to the partner institution and is processed under separate written agreement.
  • Account information: If you create a sign-in account (login.html) to access evaluation materials, we collect email address and a hashed password credential.
  • Website usage information: We collect standard server log information (IP address, browser type, pages visited, referral URL, time of access) and may use self-hosted analytics cookies to understand aggregate traffic patterns. We do not use third-party behavioural advertising trackers.

3. Purposes (APP 3, 6)

We collect and use personal information only for purposes reasonably necessary for our operations:

  • Responding to evaluation kit requests and assessing fit between a partner's measurement challenge and our current sensor capabilities.
  • Coordinating field deployment logistics and technical support for pilot partners in mining survey and medical imaging contexts.
  • Operating and securing our website and partner portal, including authentication and fraud prevention.
  • Sending technical updates, product development news, and evaluation program communications to partners who have opted in or who have an existing business relationship with us. You may opt out at any time.
  • Improving our sensor design and AI signal-processing models through aggregated, de-identified analysis of evaluation program feedback. We do not use any personally identifiable information to train models without explicit written consent.
  • Complying with applicable law, including responding to lawful requests from regulatory or law enforcement authorities.

4. Disclosure (APP 6, 8)

We do not sell personal information. We may disclose personal information to:

  • Service providers acting as processors on our behalf (for example, hosting infrastructure and email delivery). These providers are contractually restricted to processing data on our instructions.
  • Government or regulatory authorities where required by law, court order, or to protect the safety of persons.
  • Prospective purchasers or investors, in connection with a transaction affecting the Company, under confidentiality obligations.

Where personal information is disclosed to recipients outside Australia, we take reasonable steps to ensure those recipients handle the information in a manner consistent with the APPs, including through contractual data-processing clauses or by relying on jurisdictions with substantially similar privacy protections.

5. Data Security and Retention

We implement technical and organisational measures appropriate to the sensitivity of the information we hold. Evaluation enquiry data is retained for the duration of the evaluation relationship and for up to three years following the conclusion of a pilot program, to support technical warranty and follow-on correspondence. Website log data is retained for up to 12 months. Account credentials are retained until the account is deleted or the evaluation program concludes.

If you wish to request deletion of your personal information, contact us at the details in Section 9.

6. Your APP Rights

Under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), you have the following rights:

  • APP 12 - Right to access the personal information we hold about you;
  • APP 13 - Right to request correction of information that is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant, or misleading;
  • Right to opt out of direct marketing communications (APP 7);
  • Right to deal with us anonymously or by pseudonym where it is lawful and practicable to do so (APP 2).

Email [email protected] to make a request. We respond within 30 days. For access requests we may ask you to verify your identity before disclosing information.

7. Complaints

If you believe the Company has not handled your personal information in accordance with the APPs, please contact us first so we can attempt to resolve the matter directly. If the complaint remains unresolved after 30 days, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner ("OAIC") at oaic.gov.au.

8. Notifiable Data Breaches

If a data breach involving personal information we hold is likely to result in serious harm to any affected individual, the Company will notify affected individuals and the OAIC as required by the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme under Part IIIC of the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
